August 31, 2022

Central Community College has announced that its total college-wide enrollment for the fall 2022 semester is 6,209, which is up from 6,056 students at the start of the fall 2021 semester. The total is comprised of 2,203 on-campus students and 4,006 distance learning students.

Total enrollment includes on-campus and distance learning students at CCC’s campuses in Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings and centers in Holdrege, Kearney, Lexington and Ord. While college-wide enrollment numbers are unduplicated, the campus breakdowns may vary due to some students taking classes from multiple campuses and centers.

“We continue to see students appreciate the distance delivery options our faculty provide, while seeing strong growth in many skilled technology programs that require hands-on learning experiences” said CCC President Dr. Matt Gotschall.

In support of the local economy, health, skilled technology, arts, sciences and business, along with university transfer courses and programs are all seeing more student interest.

In health sciences courses, dental hygiene, dental assisting, human services and medical assisting saw increased numbers. Skilled technology courses noting increased enrollment include automotive, construction, diesel technology, heavy equipment operator, quality control, drafting and design technology, and welding.

Business courses such as business administration, criminal justice, logistics, information technology, and media arts, are seeing gains as are university transfer and general education courses. Those include early childhood education, economics, theater, chemistry, biology, art, speech, and psychology.
