A Message From CCC President Dr. Matt Gotschall

June 8, 2020

Message to CCC students, employees and community stakeholders from Dr. Matt Gotschall, Central Community College President:

Our hearts and minds continue to empathize with the images and listen to the messages of the past several weeks while realizing we must do more to move ourselves, our college and communities to eliminate racism and provide more opportunities for all people. In our over 50 years of existence, we have made progress and are resolved to continue creating an environment for conversations with students, employees and community partners about uncomfortable topics and constitutional rights. We will activate administrators, faculty and staff in all areas, including our growing criminal justice program, to implement best practices, update resources and expand programming on the essential topics of race, equality and civil rights. We will continue to educate all individuals served through CCC on ways to improve their lives by creating and supporting diverse networks in both their social and professional lives. We will proactively address environments and actions that do not uphold our values and responsibilities. Be assured that Central Community College will remain steadfast in our efforts and that we look forward to working with community partners and individuals throughout our 25-county service area to promote a safe environment for all. We will listen and act.  To become part of a team committed to guiding these initiatives, please email Scott Miller, senior director of college communications.
