All-Star Alteration

March 17, 2026

Central Community College athletics is taking a new approach in naming its all-star teams that seeks to honor deserving student-athletes from across CCC’s 25-county service area.

CCC athletics will transition from hosting traditional all-star volleyball and basketball games to a new recognition format called the Central Community College All Stars. CCC coaches will ask high school coaches across CCC’s entire 25-county service area to nominate up to three student-athletes. The all-star teams will be comprised of 10 student-athletes who will receive a commemorative medallion. In addition to boys and girls basketball, softball and volleyball, all-stars for boys and girls soccer and boys golf will also be named.

"We are so excited to unveil the new Central Community College All-Stars program which will honor an even greater number of tremendous student-athletes we have throughout our 25-county service area," said Mary Young, CCC athletics director. "By celebrating their accomplishments and the impact they've had on their schools and communities, we are supporting CCC's mission to maximize student and community success."

While all-star games for basketball and volleyball will discontinue, the all-star softball game will remain. The game will be played in early June at Raider Field at CCC-Columbus.
