U.S. Veterans MagazineU.S. Veterans Magazine (USVM) has released its 2018 evaluation of the nation’s Best of the Best Top Veteran-Friendly Schools and Central Community College made the list.

Central Community College is one of only three community colleges to make the list of 178 veteran-friendly schools. Joining CCC is Fayetteville Technical Community College (N.C.) and Iowa Lakes Community College. Two other Nebraska-based four-year institutions also made the list – the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

“We are grateful to have been chosen for the Best of the Best honor from U.S. Veterans Magazine,” said Travis Karr, director of CCC’s veterans and military resource center. “We understand the unique challenges of both a being a non-traditional student and veteran. However, we know this brings a valuable life experience and skillset that will boost career opportunities and will continue to work on growing our program using innovative and creative outreach and growth opportunities to connect veterans to the best college experience possible. The veterans and military resource center at CCC takes great honor in having the opportunity to assist men and women who have served our country proudly as they begin their new journey as college students.”
