Metallica Scholars

Metallica Scholars Initiative

The Summer of 2021 Central Community College’s Criminal Justice (CJ) Program partnered with one of the biggest names in Rock and Roll and became part of the Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI).  The Criminal Justice Program applied for the MSI Grant and was awarded it for the school year 2021-2022.  This Grant is provided by the All Within My Hands Foundation and guidance by the American Association of Community Colleges.  This grant was designed to directly support students while also elevating the importance of career and technical education.  Over 150 CJ Students have received scholarships so far along with many more benefiting from program support.

This is our fourth year as part of the Metallica Scholars Initiative, and we are proud to say that Central Community College is one of 42 returning Metallica Initiative institutions, which have been joined by 18 newly selected schools. The initiative now has a presence in all 50 United States and the territory of Guam. For a list of all 60 college currently supported by AWMH, visit allwithinmyhands.org/metallica-scholars.  If your interested in becoming a Metallica Scholar, please contact the Criminal Justice Program Director Michael David!

As we go forward into our Fourth Seasons of our partnership with Metallica, we want to thank the Band Members, James, Lars, Kirk, and Robert.  This is already shaping up to be a Rock and Roll Year!
