Scholarships have been secured for those who have been affected by the Tyson closure, thanks to an anonymous donations received by the Central Community College Foundation (CCCF) and CCC. This donation is intended to provide scholarships and program support for those who were both directly and indirectly affected by the recent closure of Lexington’s largest employer. In collaboration with the City of Lexington, area employers and agencies, and the Nebraska Department of Labor, this scholarship is intended to assist with retraining and educational expenses leading toward re-employment in the region. Upon completion of coursework, students can receive career placement assistance with CCC’s Career and Employment Services office.
