The fast-paced, hands-on 30-hour plumbing camp will meet Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, July 21-30. It will prepare students for their first day on a job site by covering the tools, materials and basic systems they will see in the field. Then students are going to use them. Expect to work, stay engaged, and think like a trades person.
This course is designed to build confidence, competence and job site awareness. The training will be coupled with online training that is available through The Home Depot's “Path To Pro.”
By the end of this boot camp, students will be able to:
- Identify and properly use common plumbing tools
- Understand basic plumbing systems (DWV, water supply, gas basics)
- Cut, join, and install multiple pipe types
- Demonstrate job site safety and awareness
- Assist a plumber efficiently on Day One
GAP funding to cover the cost is available to those who qualify. The Gap Assistance program provides financial support for eligible participants and assistance is based on several criteria:
- Financial need
- Nebraska resident
- High school diploma or GED®
The CCC team can help determine eligibility and guide participants through the next steps. Contact 308-398-7534.
