Beginning Online Genealogy

This introductory, three-session class will help you begin your family history research using online resources. It is designed for people new to genealogy or those interested in expanding their research to online sources. Bring what you know about your family (names, birth dates, death dates, etc.) because we will use your ancestors in the website demonstrations. Susan Schoenhofer has enjoyed the hobby of online genealogy for 25 years and is thrilled to help you get started.

The class will meet Feb. 9, 16 and 23. Topics will include:

  • Session 1: Comparison of free and paid websites
  • Session 2: Genetic genealogy, how your DNA can help your research
  • Session 3: You have gathered the family information, now what?
