Beginning Beekeeping

This hands-on class will introduce you to the skills needed to obtain optimum benefits for your hive. This 11-month class will meet the first Tuesday of the month, February through December 2022. You will learn about the types of bees, bee behaviors and current and best practices based on colony habits, hive designs and the importance of queens and flowers in your area. This will be a mix of lecture and hands-on activities focused on your beehive. Students are responsible for the purchase of equipment and a beekeeping suit. A veil must be worn while working with the bees. CODE: 5000 CGE22

The beginning and advanced beekeeping classes will meet on the same night and share hive maintenance to prevent stress on the bees.
