Holocaust Education Class

  • Class Type: Personal Enrichment
  • Location: Lexington
  • Start Date: October 01, 2020
  • Time: 7 - 9 p.m.

Holocaust education became a passion for Becki after teaching The Diary of Anne Frank to English 8 classes and then, most recently, Night to English 10 students. She attended the Belfer Conference for educators at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in 2017, further fueling the passion for Holocaust education. She joined the Nebraska Institute for Holocaust Education Consortium Council in 2017. She has traveled to Germany with a visit to the Dachau camp site and has a trip on a Holocaust tour to Poland and France planned. The Holocaust: Life Before, During, and After – Just as it sounds, you’ll learn about “ordinary” life in Europe before Nazi occupation, during WWII, and after Allied victory. Included in the presentation and discussion is the rise of Hitler and the Nazi party and major elements of the Holocaust. Becki will also share information and photos from her Holocaust-based trip to Europe last summer.
