The class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 1 through Nov. 12. It provides an introduction to pharmacology, including basic knowledge and skills to safely administer medications. It prepares the student to acquire the medication administration competencies required to work in a long-term care or other health care facility and pass the examination required by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
Classes are taught by qualified, approved instructions and utilize the Nebraska Health Care Association curriculum accepted by the Nebraska Department of Health.
An approved agency will schedule and administer the required state test after the completion of class information about testing will be provided the first day of class.
Students must be 18 to be placed on the Nebraska State Registry as a medication aide. A student can take the class if they are within 150 days of their 18th birthday.
