This hands-on beekeeping class will introduce you to the skills needed to obtain optimum benefits for your hive. This 10-month class will meet the second Tuesday of the month, beginning Feb. 3 and ending Nov. 12. You will learn about the types of bees, bee behaviors and current and best practices based on colony habits, hive designs and the importance of queens and flowers in your area. This will be a mix of lecture and hands-on activities focused around your beehive. Students are required to wear a hood and are responsible for the purchase of their equipment.
