Advanced beekeeping is for the beekeeper who has a basic understanding of apiary processes but would like to know more. You will learn the best practices for queen rearing, splits, treatment of pests and marketing the products of your hive. You will learn documentation practices that will help you make best choices in the implementation and growth of your apiary. This 10-month class will meet on the second Tuesday of the month, beginning Feb. 13 and ending Nov. 12, and is a mix of lecture and hands-on-activity in the field. Students are required to wear a hood and are responsible for the purchase of their equipment.
