This hands-on class will introduce you to the skills needed to obtain optimum benefits for your hive. You will learn about the types of bees, bee behaviors and current and best practices based on colony habits, hive designs and the importance of queens and flowers in your area. This will be a mix of lecture and hands-on activities focused around your beehive. Students are responsible for the purchase of their equipment and beekeeping suit. A veil must worn while working the bees.
The class will meet Tuesdays, Feb. 7 through Dec. 5.
