The class will meet Thursdays, Jan. 12 through May 4, and Saturdays, Jan. 21, Feb. 18, March 18, April 22 and jApril 29. Orientation will be held at 7 p.m. on Jan. 5.
It will be taught by certified Nebraska Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) instructors, who will cover objectives designed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and hands-on skills. Upon completion of the class, students must take and pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) written and practical exam and complete a State of Nebraska application to be licensed in Nebraska.
The hybrid "flipped classroom" style will be used. This means students are expected to complete the online coursework prior to each class meeting. In the classroom, they will meet for hands-on skills.
The EMT class repares the student for Nebraska licensure as a basic life support Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). It meets State of Nebraska guidelines for EMT and prepares the student to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam.
The fee includes insurance, uniform shirt, digital text and assessment package. Payment is due at the time of registration. Early registration is encouraged because classes fill quickly; registrations will be honored in the order they are received.
Individuals must have a current BLS Health Care Provider CPR card or its equivalent before they can take the class. CCC-Hastings will offer CPR classes on the following dates: Nov. 2 and Dec. 7. The cost is $68.
