The history of liquor and cocktails is tied to rum. Used throughout the centuries by scoundrels, pirates, sailors and diplomats, this alcohol has literally changed the course of world affairs. In this class, John Silvester and John Hamelink of Paul’s Cigar Lounge will chart a course through the Barbados’ waters. We will explore the history of rum, learn about the different varieties, and taste some of the most iconic spirits of all time. We will also examine the cultural and historical impact of a drink so beloved by the world.
The class is limited to 10 students. Participants must be 21 or older. Cigar smoking will be limited during the class.
