Photoshop is an editing and designing tool used across many industries. This course is for beginners so you don't need any previous experience in Photoshop, photography or design. Working step by step through practical examples, you will gain a comprehensive understanding of most Photoshop tools. You will learn how to enhance images by correcting light and color; select and combine images; work with text; and transform, distort and manipulate images.

The class will meet Mondays, Sept. 14 through Oct. 5, and will cover the following:

  • Photoshop environment
  • Understanding file formats
  • Understanding what image size you need
  • Working with selections
  • Color and brushes
  • Basic editing and retouching
  • Layers, layer styles and layer masks
  • Filters
  • Saving image
