The class will meet Mondays through Fridays, May 31 through June 17. It will cover basic GMAW welding and blueprint reading and safety.
Individuals who currently fall below the income guidelines and meet the other eligibility requirement would qualify for GAP funding to cover the total cost of the program.

Eligibility requirements:
- Fall below income guidelines listed above.
- Be a U.S. citizen or qualified alien under the Federal Immigration or Nationality Act.
- Be a resident of Nebraska.
- Demonstrate the capacity to learn.
- Has the desire to work full time.
- Ability to complete the training program.
Preregistration is required by May 24. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a helmet, welding jacket, side cutter, gloves and a certificate of completion for 96 hours of welding. They also will be prepared to enter a field where entry-level welders earn $15 to $18 per hour and experienced welders earn $18 to $24 per hour
NOTE: Individuals must pass a drug screen test before enrollment into the program. Steel-toed shoes are required.
