This 1988 sports rom-com is set in Durham, N.C., where the Bulls minor league baseball team has a unique asset: a poetry-loving groupie named Annie Savoy. As the team's season begins, she selects brash new recruit Ebby Calvin "Nuke" Laloosh, to inspire with the religion of baseball. Also providing guidance is veteran player Crash Davis who settles Nuke's erratic pitching and teaches him to follow the catcher's lead while also catching Annie's attention.

The “Beyond the Screen” series is offered free of charge and is open to people who enjoy watching and discussing movies. The movie will be followed by a discussion with CCC English instructor Jim Kosmicki serving as moderator.
