“Addressing Poverty's Impact on Early Learning” Presenter: Erin Sams

Addressing Poverty’s Impact on Early Learning examines how economic class effects early childhood learning experiences and parent partnerships. Workshop topics include mental models; effective parent communication; community resources; and learning experiences to support social-emotional development in children. Participants can expect to engage in discussions on creating local definitions of poverty, and how to collaboratively build community well-being systems for greater impact. This session is appropriate for in-home providers, center-based providers, early childhood educators, and early childhood support staff.

Core Competencies:
  1. Planning Learning Experiences
  2. Partnerships with Families and Communities
  3. Relationships and Social Emotional Guidance

All trainings have been pre-approved for DHHS child care licensure training, four (4) in-service hours.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, CCC will observe local health directed measures at all campuses and centers. Masks are required to be worn in the CCC campuses and centers.
