Orientation: Successful Student Prep

Learn more about the CCC college experience.
  • Are you a new student starting classes at Central Community College? 

    Plan to attend an Orientation: Successful Student Prep and complete the Online Orientation. Successful Student Prep will help you become a successful student by providing you with an in-depth understanding about our college. 

    At a Successful Student Prep event you will be able to:

    • Register for courses
    • Practice using CCC software and technology
    • Experience campus culture
    • Prepare for coursework
    • Understand your rights and responsibilities

    Space is limited. Register in advance for Successful Student Prep. You will need to complete the COMPASS, ASSET, or ACCUPLACER placement exam or submit your ACT results before you can register for classes.  

    Please attend orientation at the campus where you will be taking classes. Also, note that although we will have bilingual staff available at each Successful Student Prep, we will also have one event on each campus location that will be conducted entirely in Spanish. These events are noted in the “Orientaciones en Español” section.

    At the Hastings Campus, Orientation: Successful Student Prep events are program specific.  

    There will be six events:  three focusing on students entering specific AAS programs and three focusing on students planning to transfer to a four-year school or who are still deciding their program of interest. 

    The first set of dates shown below are for students who are interested in the AAS programs listed below the dates.  Students may attend any of the Orientation sessions.  However, program advisors are only available on the indicated dates (for example: a student entering the Welding Program can attend any of the six sessions, but Welding Program advisors will only be available for those indicated under the “AAS Program-Specific Dates” heading). 

    Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are attendance caps on each session.

    Orientations typically run from 8:30am-3:00pm unless otherwise noted.

  • Step 2: Online New Student Orientation

    The online orientation is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

    To complete the online orientation, please enter your name and your CCC ID number on the login screen and click the "Enter" button. If you do not know your CCC ID number, please contact CCC Admissions .

    CCC's online orientation consists of three sections:

    1. Support Services & Resources Available
    2. Student Rights & Responsibilities
    3. Online Resources

    Each section contains important information about your first term at Central Community College. Please allow approximately 1 hour to complete the orientation. Be sure to complete the survey at the end and give us your thoughts about how we might improve the experience.
