Academic Success Center - Columbus

Services available at the Columbus campus
  • col ASCThe Academic Success Center (ASC) provides many services for students including on-campus tutoring, online tutoring, computer lab and computer assistance, and the academic skill builder workshop. Click the tabs below to learn more about each service.

  • Tutoring is a free service to our students. Our tutors have knowledge in specific subjects and will act as a learning resource for you. They will help you review and study what you've learned in class. One-to-one and group tutoring is available in selected subjects.

We are also seeking students who would like to become tutors. If you have an above average grade in a specific course and would like to help others learn, then you may qualify. Our tutors are paid and set their own hours with individual students or study groups.

    Distance Tutoring

Tutoring and Writing Coach assistance are available through distance tutoring for online students or students unable to travel to a campus. These services are available every term – spring, summer, and fall. Students and tutors will work together to determine the best way to conduct these tutoring services, whether it be through email and/or telephone correspondence, or WebEx meetings. Please contact any Academic Success Center to inquire about distance tutoring.

The Academic Success Center offers the Athletic Study Hall program to various athletic programs including Men’s Basketball, Men’s Soccer and Men’s Golf.  Players are required to spend 1 ½ hours of mandatory study hall within the Academic Success Center and meet with a mentor for ½ hr each week.  The mentor is one of the professional staff in the ASC.
