    Message from the President

Greetings!  Welcome to Central Community College’s 3C Initiative page.

Here at CCC we are striving to be great stewards of our environment – for our students, community and the planet.

As a Cum Laude leader and signatory of the American College and University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC) and the Sustainability Education & Economic Development (SEED) Initiative we have made a commitment to educate and model the practices needed for a sustainable future. For our communities and ultimately the world at large, we believe environmental sustainability is important and necessary for healthy communities, people and economic sustainability. At CCC we define environmental sustainability as meeting "the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs" (from the 1987 Brundtland report). Our environmental commitment supports our commitment to our students and their future.

    3C Brand

Today’s economy and environmental challenges require employees to have a unique skill set – one in which they can meet the demands of their profession while being responsible stewards of our natural resources. CCC is working to meet these needs by building the educational programs, practices, culture and partnerships for today’s environmental challenges. Social and economic systems are built on the use of natural resources, ecosystem services…. our environment. We must manage these resources responsibly for all generations. As a founding signatory of the Alliance for Resilient Campuses , Central Community College knows that a sustainable environment will require adaptation, innovation, partnerships, and leadership.

We hope you join the CCC 3C Initiative, our collective efforts across the college to foster and educate for a sustainable environment for everyone.

Central Community College, Green Today...Greener Tomorrow.
