What is a mentor?

A mentor is a person who acts as a source of support to an individual.  A mentor is someone who gives information, listens, and acts as a guide for success.  Mentoring relationships have proven to be very valuable and may contribute to an individual’s success in life.

 

How can a mentor help?  

Assist in transition to college life

Provide guidance and support to students pursuing non-traditional careers

Help establish career contacts

Provide an opportunity to job shadow

Provide career insight and direction

At present, Mentoring
is offered in Grand Island only.

Who may participate?

Any student enrolled in Central Community College-Grand Island who feels he or she could benefit from the support of a mentor is welcome to participate in the program.  This service is available at no charge.
