Purple poppy mallow was found on the Cather prairie in clusters. It was also found on the Homestead prairie in many places,
usually found in clusters.It is located in the Platte, and Loup river valleys. 
 
 
 
 

 

Silver-leafed Scurf Pea
Brad's plant was difficult to identify as it is not commonly found on the Cather prairie, at least in the short time spent hiking the eastern portion of the site.
Buckbrush---Found on Catherland Prairie.  It is found throughout the prairie in large clusters. To identify the leaves look for egg-shaped, sharp pointed leaves. 
The leaves are simple bladed and opposites. The flowers are white to purplish corolla bell shaped.
