| 4:30 pm | Mel Janousek, Project Curriculum/Technology Coordinator, will provide an overview of the development of an interactive multi-media project |
| 6:00 pm | Reception at the Elks Country Club |
| 6:45 pm | Introduction of invited guests. Dinner at the Elks Country Club |
| 7:30 pm | Cultural Speaker: Matt "Sitting Bear" Jones will lead an interpretive discussion of Native American stories, including the Villasur Massacre |

Pawnee Culture and U.S. Indian Schools

| 7:30 am | Travel to Pawnee Indian Village Museum in Republic County, KS. via chartered bus. Discuss the book The Lost Universe: Pawnee Life and Culture by Gene Weltfish en route to Republic County, KS |
| 10:00 am | Pawnee Indian Village Museum in Republic County, KS. Museum tour provided by Richard Gould, Museum Curator. and archaeologist Dr. Donna Roper, Research Associate Professor, Kansas State University |
| 12:30 noon | Depart to Scandia, KS. |
| 1:00 pm | Lunch at Tags Grill. Cultural Speaker: Pat Leading Fox, Cultural Leader of the Pawnee Nation's Nasharo Council, Pawnee, Oklahoma |
| 3:15 pm | Depart for Columbus. En route participants will watch the documentary In the White Man's Image produced for PBS by Christine Lesiak and Matt "Sitting Bear" Jones. |
| 6:15 pm | Dinner at Dusters in Columbus |
| 7:00 pm | Speaker: Christine Lesiak will share her research producing the documentary In the White Man's Image. The film and discussion will prepare participants for the site visit on Tuesday to the Genoa U.S. Indian School. |
Tuesday, June 22 and June 29:
U.S. Indian Boarding Schools, Pawnee History and Culture

| 8:15 am | Travel to Genoa, NE, location of Genoa U.S. Indian School, via CCC mini buses |
| 9:00 am | Tour Genoa U.S. Indian Industrial School, guided by Nancy Carlson, local Archaeologist and Anthropologist |
| 9:30 am | Cultural Speaker: Judi gaiashekibos, Executive Director, State of Nebraska, Commission on Indian Affairs, whose mother, a member of the Ponca tribe, was a student at the school. |
| 10:30 pm | Nancy Carlson, archaeologist and anthropologist from Genoa will guide the group through Pawnee historical village site visits. Depart to Fullerton, NE |
| 12:00 noon | Visit the Veteran's Memorial, view the Pawnee Indian Nation Flag, and learn about Pawnee participation in U.S. wars. |
| 12:30 pm | Working Lunch at Broken Arrow Wilderness Camp in Fullerton |

Tour will include 1) Durham Center for Western Studies, introduction to the Maximilian Journal Project; 2) Native American and Western galleries, including works by Karl Bodmer, Alfred Jacob Miller, and other artists.; 3) overview of Education department, overview of Teacher Resource Center |

| 12:45 pm | Depart to the Durham Museum, Mutual of Omaha Auditorium. Cultural Speaker: Gary Robinette, Director of Cultural Affairs, Ponca Tribe of Nebraska |

| 2:00 pm | Guest scholar lecturer, Joe Starita, journalism professor at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and author of I Am A Man: Standing Bear's Journey for Justice, will discuss his research for his recent work and lead discussion of the book |
| 3:00 pm | Break and Autograph session with Joe Starita and Dr. Mark Awakuni-Swetland |
| 3:15 pm | Dr. Mark Awakuni-Swetland, Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Ethnic Studies at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and author of Dance Lodges of the Omaha People: Building the Memory. Dr. Awakuni-Swetland will lead discussion on his book and the Omaha people in general. He will prepare the group for Thursday's visit to the Omaha reservation. |
| 4:15 pm | Tour Ponca Exhibit with Dr. Mark Awakuni-Swetland at the Durham Museum. View the earth lodge, tepee, and Standing Bear exhibit. |
