If you’re planning to major in theater or want to be part of the Theater experience while majoring in another field, Central Community College-Columbus offers a great opportunity.
With two main-stage productions and as many as four one-acts produced during the school year, your chances of stage time as a freshman is significantly higher than most four-year colleges and universities.
We schedule several plays each year (including musical theater) so you have an opportunity for a variety of roles, as well as gaining hands-on experience in other aspects of theater including set design and production, stage lighting and organization and operation of production crews.
Theater courses are offered as part of the academic transfer program, which provides the courses you need to complete your first two years of college before transferring to a four-year college or university to complete your bachelor’s degree program, including students planning careers in theater or as dramatic arts teachers. Theater courses also benefit:
-
Students who want to develop an appreciation for and skills in the dramatic art form.
-
Students to become more discerning viewers of plays, movies and television.
-
Students interested in careers in business, education and related fields where the ability to present yourself and to communicate well is crucial to success.
