Second year Head Coach Mike Kroupa is looking forward to build on the success of the reinstated Raider program.  The Raiders bring back a solid core from last years team and with a strong recruiting class will look for success both on and off the court.    

 Kroupa brings eight years of coaching experiences throughout the Midwest at various different levels. His coaching career began as an assistant boys coach at Richfield High School (MN) while he was attending college at Hamline University in St. Paul. During this time he helped the Spartans reach the state tournament for just the third time in school history. After spending two seasons with Richfield, Kroupa then spent one season coaching football and basketball at Hill-Murray High School in Maplewood, MN.

 Kroupa spent the 2008-2009 as an assistant with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls men’s basketball team. While at UWRF, Kroupa assisted with recruiting, scouting, video breakdown, and on floor coaching.      

 In May 2009, Kroupa accepted the head girls coaching position at his alma mater, Brownell-Talbot. While at BT the Raiders compiled a record of 39-22, they won their conference twice (first time since 1982), they recorded the best record in school history (16-6), and reached the sub-district final. Also, while at BT, Kroupa taught Physical Education at Holy Name Elementary in Omaha, NE.

 Coach Kroupa’s duties also include being the Instructor for the Adult Education Program as well as assisting the Athletic Department with marketing.

Kroupa is a native of Omaha, NE. He graduated high school from Omaha Brownell-Talbot (2003). He then attended and graduate from Hamline University while majoring in Physical Education and minoring in Education. He is currently working on his Masters in Athletic Administration from the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
