About Coach Jack Gutierrez



 Coach Gutierrez enters his 6th season as coach of the Raiders and the outlook for the 2012-13 season is high once again. Four very good returning sophomores along with 15 quality freshmen keep the Raiders at the top of their Region and conference. Paige Otte, freshman of the year last year in the region at catcher will return along with all Region IX players Samantha Timperley, outfield and Paige Delancey, pitcher. Mariah Bigelow returns to bolster a very talented outfield.

Newcomers to Central are:

Caitlin Fehringer…outstanding hitter and outfielder from Wayne.

Kristin Carroll…teammate to Fehringer at Wayne will bolster the pitching staff and will also add quality play at 2nd base.

Lindsay Larson…outfielder from Cross County High School brings lots of speed and power to the plate.

Kaitlyn Behnk…versatile player from St. Paul leads the class of pitchers along with a steady bat.

Maria Glidden and Gina Nelson from Albion ( Boone Central HS ) join the team as a catcher-pitcher Combination.

Paige Paczosa and Ashley Kunes from Twin River HS also will pitch and catch for the Raiders.

Samantha Gramke, a catcher/3rd baseman from Tekamah Herman HS. Good speed and strong bat Coming from a solid program.

Desi Pinkerman, a true 3rd baseman from O’Neill that brings speed and savvy to the Raiders.

Shelby Lienemann, SS from Winside adds a big bat and strong arm.

Celeste Palensky, pitcher from Schuyler will add a lefty to the pitching staff along with a good bat.

Cera Woita, outfielder with a good bat and speed from Wahoo Newmann HS.

Sara Borer, infielder and Sydney Welch, catcher/outfielder from Lakeview, with good skills and smarts Round out the talented freshman class.

Hayley Orent from Ord and Taylor Kirby from Twin River HS will be walk ons this fall.

The outlook is promising and the talent with this team may be one of the best in the Gutierrez era. “I think we have a very good group of girls that have all played at a very high level in their high school careers and in their summer programs. We will host the Region IX tournament this year and our Jimmy Johns/Holiday Inn Express tournament on April 5 & 6, 2013 in Columbus is loaded with good teams. Our fall schedule will get us ready for spring with some very good four year colleges on the slate.”

Coach Gutierrez enters his 33rd year at Central Community College and he also heads up the athletic department as the Athletic Director. His wife Kelly works at East Central District Health Department and he has three children: Drew 28 from Omaha. Jake 27 in Columbus and Jaisa 23, a former Raider softball player currently living in Columbus.
