People in the human services field are employed in a variety of positions which involve helping others adjust socially, psychologically, or physically so they can achieve a fuller and more satisfying life.

The job outlook for this field is excellent. The need for human services workers is expected human service assistants is expected to grow by nearly 28 percent between 2010 and 2020, which is much faster than the average for all occupations

The Human Services program is offered at the Central Community College campuses in Grand Island and Hastings. Graduates find employment in a variety of positions with psychiatric, treatment facilities, social services agencies, school systems, nursing homes, community-based services, group homes, rehabilitation centers and senior centers.
