The employment outlook is bright for automotive service technicians who have completed formal automotive training programs, according to the U.S. Labor Department, which says technicians with a strong technical background will find excellent opportunity for good pay.
Most new employment will be with automobile dealerships, independent repair shops and specialty care chains. The need for mechanics will increase as the increase in the driving age population puts more cars on the road. In addition, more job openings are expected for automotive technicians than for most other occupations as experienced workers retire or leave the profession. Demand is expected to remain high for people with the right kind of training - the kind we provide at Central Community College.
