Academic Quality Improvement Project

Overview

Welcome to the Central Community College Academic Quality Improvement (A.Q.I.P.) Web page.  You are probably asking yourself what is A.Q.I.P.?  A simplified definition for the Academic Quality Improvement Project is program that focuses the energies of academic institutions on continually striving to improve internal processes.

This new project replaces the traditional accreditation process and is far more self-directed.  Central Community College has a long history of using the concepts of continuous improvement, and this program will help us formalize the process.

As some of you may be aware, many organizations in the United States have committed themselves to using the tools and principles of continuous improvement to better serve their stakeholders.  Central believes this is a critical step in improving our performance as an institution and better serving our students, employees, and our communities.  We are excited to share this information with you, and look forward to working with you on this exciting process.

  • Central Community College was approved as an AQIP school in the summer of 2002 by NCA/ Higher Learning Commission and has been working on continuously improving the processes in the institution.
  • The college developed the Quality Council, which is made up of representative members of our institution.  The purpose for the council is to use the expertise of the stakeholders of the college to advise and take action on opportunities for improvement.  Presently, the council consists of employees, but future plans are being developed to include input from the student body and other stakeholders in the community.
