Early Childhood Education

Available at the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses. Some courses are available online.

    Students in the Early Childhood Education program can transfer to a four-year college or university to earn a teaching degree with an endorsement in Early Childhood Education or the Unified Early Childhood Education endorsement, qualifying them to teach children from birth through the third grade, including those with disabilities.

    Graduates of the CCC program also can transfer into a bachelor’s degree program to earn an endorsement in preschool disabilities to teach infants through kindergarten children who have a range of disabilities. They can expand their career options by finishing an additional certification in elementary education.

    The program includes supervised experience working with infants, toddlers, pre-school children and school-age children as part of practicum courses.

    • At 2017-18 tuition and fee rates, completing the 63 credits required for the Early Childhood Education degree costs:

      Nebraska residents - $6,300
      Non-residents - $9,072

      These costs are for tuition and fees only for the program of study as listed in the CCC online catalog. It does not include the cost of foundations courses, retaking courses or taking courses in addition to those required for the degree. It does not include the cost of books, supplies, tools, computers or other items that may be required.

      The length of time to complete a program is based on a student taking only the courses required for the program as listed in our online catalog. It does not include the cost of foundations courses that may be required based on COMPASS, ASSET or ACT scores, retaking courses or taking courses that are not required by your program of study.
