Every product you use from your cell phone to the car you drive had to be designed and built by skilled technicians. Every house, shopping mall, or hospital had to be visualized and planned prior to construction. The Design Technology programs at Central Community College allow you to create anything you can imagine and train you for lucrative careers for the future. These programs use the latest design software to bring concepts to reality. As manufacturing and industry
have changed the way products are produced, the Design Technology principles and latest design software have been incorporated into the former Drafting and Machine Tool Technology programs. These programs teach students the fundamentals of design, give them the ability to document, evaluate, and modify their designs, and build or prototype their concepts. Students interested in Design Technology should possess good reading, writing, and math skills.
