Small Business Incubator

Small businesses represent a high percentage of all employers an area critically important to the ongoing growth of our community and our country.
  • The Central Community College Foundation received some specific donations, micro loan funds, and grants to establish the Small Business Institute (SBI). SBI was established in 1990 to encourage the formation of new, small businesses and to assist existing small businesses with growth opportunities. Small businesses represent a high percentage of all employers an area critically important to the ongoing growth of our community and our country.

    The SBI is an integral part of the Central Community College Foundation and of Central Community College (CCC). It is under the general direction of a four-member Board of Directors and is staffed by a part-time professional. The SBI office is located in the Platte Building on the CCC-Hastings Campus.

    The SBI provides numerous services throughout the 25-county area served by CCC. Specifically, it offers:

    • counseling services designed to address today's business problems and opportunities-normally at no charge;
    • a place (incubator facility) to start a new business at affordable rents; and
    • financial assistance to aid in starting a new business and/or continuing an existing business in the form of loans.

    Note: the SBI partners with a number of local, state, and federal development groups and organizations in providing services.
