Next Beyond the Screen Class Set for Aug. 2 in Grand Island

July 17, 2017

“Housekeeping” will be the featured movie in a “Beyond the Screen” class on Aug. 2 at Central Community College-Grand Island.

This 1987 comedy-drama tells the story of two sisters who go to live with their unconventional Aunt Sylvie after their mother kills herself. While Ruth eventually grows fond of her aunt’s many quirks, Lucille starts to resent Sylvie’s behavior -- especially when it brands them as outcasts among the residents of their small town.

The “Beyond the Screen” series is offered free of charge and is open to people who enjoy watching and discussing movies. The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a discussion moderated by CCC English instructor Jim Kosmicki to follow.

Reservations are required. For more information or to reserve a seat, contact the CCC Extended Learning Services Office at (308) 398-7445; toll-free in Nebraska at 1-877-222-0780, ext. 7445; or by email at elsgi@cccneb.edu.
