Available at the Columbus, Grand Island and Hastings campuses
  • English courses offered as part of the Academic Transfer program provide the foundation needed for students who plan to complete a bachelor's degree in English or other communication-related area.

    In addition, CCC English courses are offered to meet general education course requirements for students planning to complete bachelor's degrees in other areas and to provide students with the communications skills needed for success in any career field.

    English composition courses provide students with the skills in written expression needed to achieve career success and personal effectiveness, as well as those skills needed in advanced studies requiring written expression of ideas.

    Literature courses provide students with opportunities for exploring their own rich literary heritage in various genres, as well as the literature of other cultures. Critical analysis and response is an important general education competency, and courses within this area meet both general education and academic transfer options for students.

    • At 2017-18 tuition and fee rates, completing the 60 credits required for an associate of arts degree costs:

      Nebraska residents - $6,000
      Non-residents - $8,640

      These costs are for tuition and fees only for the program of study as listed in the CCC online catalog. It does not include the cost of foundations courses, retaking courses or taking courses in addition to those required for the degree. It does not include the cost of books, supplies, tools, computers or other items that may be required.

    • Finish in 2 years by completing 15 credits a semester for 4 semesters

      The length of time to complete a program is based on a student taking only the courses required for the program as listed in our online catalog. It does not include the cost of foundations courses that may be required based on COMPASS, ASSET or ACT scores, retaking courses or taking courses that are not required by your program of study.
