  • Teaching is a rewarding profession for people who like to help others and work with young people and there is a great need for dedicated teachers.

    A bachelor’s degree is required to be eligible for licensing as an elementary or secondary school teacher. You can complete the first two years of teacher education program through the Central Community College academic transfer program. In addition to classes in the subject areas you intend to teach, CCC provides courses for students who plan to major in education.

    Hastings College Bachelor Bound Teacher Education Program. Students have the opportunity to take specified Hastings College Education classes at CCC tuition rates while completing an associate of arts degree at CCC, and then transferring to Hastings College to complete their bachelor's degree.

    • At 2017-18 tuition and fee rates, completing the 60 credits required for an associate of science degree costs:

      Nebraska residents - $6,000
      Non-residents - $8,640

      These costs are for tuition and fees only for the program of study as listed in the CCC online catalog. It does not include the cost of foundations courses, retaking courses or taking courses in addition to those required for the degree. It does not include the cost of books, supplies, tools, computers or other items that may be required.
